The Body Shop will host Earth Month pop-ups with free chocolate and refillable beauty samples

To celebrate Earth Month, The Body Shop will be partnering with Tony’s Chocolonely to give away free chocolate and refillable beauty samples on April 8th and 15th.

The Body Shop and Tony’s Chocolonely launch the call for climate action in New York: Let’s clean up our act to save the planet. The two B corporations plan to educate New Yorkers on the importance of “FOREST” law. This bill aims to discourage illegal deforestation and improve transparency in global corporate supply chains.

The body store started and remains a store with ethically and naturally sourced ingredients from around the world in simple packages for easy refilling. Beauty products and rituals are for anyone who makes women feel good about themselves – without ever promising to make them look like someone else.

In 2019, The Body Shop relaunched its Charging program to encourage consumers to reuse packaging rather than throwing it away. Switching to reusable packaging will collectively save more than 25 tonnes of plastic per year.

The Body Shop‘s easy-to-use in-store refill stations allow customers to refill their favorite body care products, including shower gels, shampoos, conditioners and hand washes, helping eliminate waste before the products even reach the bathroom shelf.

These new charging stations in U.S. stores are celebrating their launch during Earth Month in partnership with an ethical chocolate maker Tony’s Chocolonely.

Tony’s Chocolonely is 100% slave free and aims to be a transparent business. They advocate for equality in the chocolate supply chain and against child labor and modern slavery. Tony Chocolonely’s signature ‘Choco’ trolley and truck will be parked outside The Body Shop during the launch event, handing out free chocolate to attendees.

In addition to the sweet treat, samples of refillable aluminum bottles from The Body Shop will be given out to event attendees along with a 20% discount on any refillable hair, hand or body wash. The event will take place Friday, April 8 from 2-6 p.m. at The Body Shop at NoHo, 787 Broadway, New York, NY 10003. A second event will take place Friday, April 15 from 2-6 p.m. at The Body Shop at Rockefeller Center, 1270 6th Ave, New York, NY 10020.

As an extension of these events, on April 22, Earth Day itself, customers who purchase a refill product at The Body Shop’s NoHo and Rockefeller Center stores in New York will also receive a Tony’s Chocolonely “Protest Bar.” free.
