Chris Francis
Hey guys, I began training “unofficially” at the age of fifteen back home in New Jersey. My father was a sports-fanatic, so he bought my brothers and I a weight-set when I was only ten years old. I loved lifting weights and drinking protein shakes, but still didn’t know what the heck I was doing. Then during my first few teenage years, I battled some health issues, and after seeing many doctors with no success, I finally found the answer when I went to a nutritionist who completely changed my eating. That’s when I was prompted to educate myself about the many eating disorders and food allergies that plague our society.

After seeing my commitment to fitness while participating in high school sports, my friends began coming to me for advice on how to gain muscle and strength for football, or lose weight safely for wrestling.

When I moved to L.A. 6 years ago at the age of 18, I decided to actually make it my job to do what I’d been doing for years already, anyway. I was a personal trainer at Bally’s for one year. Then I left that corporate setting to begin training privately. I am currently certified in personal training and sports nutrition. Although I love the work-outs and developing training plans for my clients, my real passion is the nutrition-coaching side of fitness, which includes helping people discover any nutrition deficiencies and then recover from them through proper meal plans and supplementation.

After a couple years of trying out a few privately-owned gyms, I found Bodyimage, and can honestly say Patty and Steve’s facility is the best I’ve ever used. So next time you’re in North Hollywood’s premier fitness center, come say hello.

David Hughes winner of Mr. L.A. 2003. I have been in the fitness industry for over fifteen years. I started competing in bodybuilding with a great deal of success. In 1989 I won my first show, the Western Oregon Light-Heavy Weight Championships. This was the start of many victories that layed ahead for me until today. (visit my website www.gethughes.com). I have been competing on the national and international level for the last decade.

I have traveled all over the world including Spain, Japan, Mexico, Canada, and trained with some of the best athletes out there. I have trained many clients for competions, however most of my clients are not bodybuilders but people just looking to get in better shape, tone up, and loose weight. I have developed a unique style of training which provides my clients with a very safe and effective way of getting the results and maintaining their results.

One of my primary concerns when training new clients is making sure that they learn absolute "perfect form", when teaching them new exercises. This is a vital key in how quickly an individual can achieve the best results. I pay very close attention to detail and proper form to insure my clients get "total isolation" of each muscle they are training, and to get the maximum benefits out of each exercise.

I am currently certified through Professional Private Trainers Association ( P.T.A.) and I am also a licensed P.T.A. examiner which allows me to certify other qualified trainers. P.T.A. is one of the most prestigeous, well known, and profound corporation in the fitness industry today. The company is very selective of whom they will certify and all of their trainers must be real professionals.

My mission in life is to help people and I take pride in each and every client that I train. If we choose to work with each other, I guarantee you with the best results, the maximum benefits, in the least minimum time frame possible.

"In life we can choose to dream or live the dream!" Live the dream and get in the best shape of your life!

Respecfully yours,

David Hughes
Mr. L.A. 2003

Joseph Carletta

My name is Joe Carletta and I’ve been a Certified Fitness Trainer for nearly a decade. I’ve been helping people of all ages and fitness levels to establish firm exercise principles and develop healthy nutritional habits, so that they can improve their lives and become more vibrant, confident and happy individuals.

I started working out in my early twenties, almost purely for my ego. I wandered into a gym with a specific goal in mind – a washboard midsection! Motivated solely by my “self”, I trained hard, every day and quickly started to see my physical body change, even in the beginning when I didn’t really know what I was doing. The metamorphosis empowered me, since I was the one bringing it about!

After a few months of exercising without the proper knowledge, I decided to buy every book, magazine and video I could get my hands on with information on exercise technique. The results were staggering! I had truly altered my body in a way that I could see and feel. Friends and family immediately started to notice and began to ask me for tips!

I trained for several years always improving on my technique. I noticed that, despite my tenacity, something was missing. I’d hit a plateau. Though my body was certainly different, it seemed as if no new change had come about in a long while. I began to seek the advice of others whom I could see were more advanced than I. After meeting with a personal trainer for a short time, it became evident that the one area which needed attention was my nutritional program.

Although I trained hard and certainly knew my way around the gym, my eating habits were inconsistent and mostly unhealthy. Once I became aware of the poor meal choices I was making, I immediately started to adapt a much more sensible diet into my exercise program and within a short time, drastic change ensued. I became leaner, stronger and noticeably more muscular. I had truly become the master of my own body; and that created a renewed sense of confidence in my ability to be able to make change come about in all areas of my life.

My success with my “self” led me to want to share my knowledge with others who I knew were in the same boat I was in years earlier. In 1997, I decided to earn my Trainer Certification through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA). Shortly thereafter, I began my mission of passing on what I’d learned to benefit others.

Always striving for the next level, I decided to take my own body to new heights and I began entering bodybuilding competitions, winning first place in two consecutive shows in 2001; the NPC San Diego Classic and the NPC Southern California, and placing in the top five in every show I’ve entered from 2001 to 2004.

Bodybuilding has helped me in ways that I never thought of. The confidence gained by taking control of one’s physical self permeates into the mind and gives one the strength and courage to meet life head on, no matter what it dishes out. Exercise has been my gateway to self control, self awareness and self motivation. I believe those three traits, coupled with a definite spiritual direction; (one which benefits mankind) can be revolutionary in the development of the human psyche.

I bring all of my years of experience and knowledge, coupled with a strong desire to help others overcome their self doubts and shortcomings into my one on one personal training style. I believe if I could help one person change his or her life for the better, it will have a ripple effect on society as a whole.

A quote that I believe to be the basis of my philosophy is one from a man who, though frail in stature, is boundless in strength and compassion, Mahatma Gandhi:

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world”

Marcus Park

Knowledge is king.

Throughout the years of training I’ve gained a lot of insight by watching and interacting with people. One thing I noticed was that everyone is different. Each individual I’ve trained had a different goal, a different purpose, and a different state of mind. While observing these differences I realized that there really isn’t a “cookie cutter” approach to any fitness regimen. Keeping this in mind I found myself doing endless amounts of research to personalize my regimens and help individuals meet their goals.

It’s a relationship,

Finding a trainer is more like finding a friend. Who are you compatible with? Who brings the best out of you? Who can motivate you to become better? It’s a long-term relationship that both parties should benefit from. I personally get a kick out of watching people change and grow. And while an individual goes through these transitions you can see the “ripple effect” in other aspects of their lives. The people around them take notice, and all of the sudden there’s a more positive synergy that surrounds them.

Background

I have over 12 years of experience in the fitness industry and 9 years as a Certified Personal Trainer. I’m a National Council for Certified Personal Trainers (NCCPT) certified Personal Trainer and certified Swedish Massage Therapist. In the Los Angeles Area, I’ve worked at 24 Hour Fitness as a Trainer Fit Pro, I was a Fitness Director for LA Fitness, and currently own Push U Fitness, Inc. I am also co-owner of TrainersBible.com, which is an online resource for personal trainers.

Keith Kettering

This certification is the most prestigious in the industry and it qualifies me to work with virtually any individual desiring to improve their fitness. TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

I believe fitness is a state of well-being consisting of optimal levels of strength, flexibility, weight control, cardiovascular capacity and positive physical and mental health behaviors, that prepare a person to participate fully in life, to be free from controllable health risk factors and to achieve physical objectives consistent with his or her potential. In other words fitness is important in every individuals life and every person is unique in that pursuit.

At the core of fitness are four key components; strength training for increased muscle mass and in turn a faster metabolism, cardiovascular exercise for a stronger heart and increased blood circulation to reduce subcutaneous fat stores, proper rest for recuperation, and finally a nutrition methodology that does not deprive, but slowly begins to modify eating to be viewed as your body’s fuel.

I truly believe that an individualized training program consisting of many different and varied exercises is necessary for increased challenge, variety in training and inevitably a committal to the fitness lifestyle. In the final analysis your fitness, both mind and body, impacts every aspect of your life. Call now and allow me to assist you in attaining your fitness goals.
